Families With Children From China - Indiana
Volunteer Needs
A Little Time Makes a Big Difference
FCC-IN is a volunteer-run organization.  Throughout the year, we work to keep our membership apprised of information of interest, put on educational and social events, and provide financial and volunteer support to local Chinese festivals.  All of these activities require dedicated volunteers to make things happen.

There are numerous opportunities to which you can share your talents and time. Equally, there are even more things that we can do if volunteers step forward including coordinating trips, strengthening relationships with the Chinese community, improving fundraising to support both FCC-IN and our charitable initiatives and creating more educational opportunities focusing on adoption and Chinese culture.

We are solely dependent on you - the fortunate parents of our remarkable children - to maintain all of the activities and events detailed on this web site. Please volunteer your time and energy. Without volunteer support, we will cease to exist.  Please consider volunteering and helping us offer our members all of these great opportunities.

Chinese Culture & Community
Community Liaisons:  In order to provide FCC-IN members with the most up-to-date information on what's going on in the local Chinese community, we need volunteers who will act as liaisons with various Chinese organizations in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas.  These liaisons will be dedicated to the organization of their choice and will communicate with the group to learn what they have planned for the year and share information with them about FCC-IN.  Liaisons will look for opportunities for the two organizations to create shared experiences through events, get-togethers, educational activities, volunteering, and more.  For more information, on becoming a Community Liaison, contact membership@fcc-in.org

Newsletter:  The FCC-IN newsletter is one of the most immediate ways that we have to communicate with membership.  Keeping our members informed of news and events of interest to them is a priority to us, and we have seen a great return for re-dedicating our efforts to improving communication.  Volunteers are needed in a variety of positions to support the newsletter production including creating content, putting together the on-line newsletter via an easy-to-use template-driven system and collecting event information in and around the state to include in the newsletter.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact news@fcc-in.org.

Website:  With all of the changes in the Chinese adoption community over the past few years, the FCC-IN Board has prioritized creating a robust website that provides FCC-IN members with relevant and up-to-the-minute information on everything from Chinese culture and news to adoption and race-related issues to local events and member activities.  Volunteers are needed to gather information on areas of interest.  We would love to hear your ideas for things to share with members, and are happy to create space on the site, if you collect the information.  We also need volunteers who will help keep the site updated by posting events and adding/updating sections as needed.  The website is easy to maintain and prior web experience is not required.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact news@fcc-in.org.

Blog:  Do you have a blog that you would like to share with FCC-IN members?  Are you interested in contributing to our blog by sharing restaurant, book or movie reviews, or simply bringing an important topic to the attention of FCC-IN membership?  The FCC-IN blog space is a great place for you to share.  Any FCC-IN member can post to the FCC-in.org blog. Just sign in and you are free to submit whatever you would like to contribute.

Family Event Planning
Event Planning: One of the Board's current priorities is to create more social opportunities for member families.  These opportunities can range from dinners or picnics to bowling or sporting events.  The point of these social gatherings is to give our kids unstructured play time together and give parents the opportunity to get to know one another better.  Events are easy to put together and do not require a lot of planning.  In fact, most Events should require less than an hour hour of planning and set up.  The idea is to make it easy so that everyone spends more time enjoying themselves.  If you have an idea for a FCC-IN Family Event that you would like to coordinate, please contact president@fcc-in.org
